AltClamp

How it works

A bot inside Discord and a small private website that only opens from a one time link.

They press VerifyThe bot sends a private link that only works for that Discord account. It is random, single use and expires after a few minutes, so it cannot be shared or reused.
We check the lineThe website looks up the connection with several IP reputation providers. If any of them reports a VPN, proxy or Tor, the attempt is blocked. If too few providers answer, it fails closed and the same link stays valid for another try.
We look for links IP history and keyed browser/device signatures help find links across AltClamp. The raw browser and device profile is discarded.
Your rules decide Each server has its own allow, review or block setting. Strong or Certain links to banned or previously verified accounts are blocked.

What a match means

Scores are signals, not proof. Weak Match is 10–30%. Possible Match is 31–60%. Strong Match is 61–90%. Certain Match is 91–100%.

One shared IP or device/browser signal alone is weak evidence. Indirect links lose half their confidence at each extra step. They cannot score higher than the weakest link in the path.

Server logs show linked accounts only when they are currently in that server. Off-server accounts are not named there.

Alt policies

Allow

Strong and Certain matches are logged but allowed, unless linked to an account banned or previously verified here.

Review

Strong and Certain matches are held for staff. Weak and Possible matches are logged without a hold.

Block

Strong and Certain matches are blocked. Weak and Possible matches are logged but do not block verification.

Banned or verified links

A Strong or Certain link to an account banned or previously verified in your server is blocked under every policy. If the bot cannot read the ban list, it holds the check for review. Off-server accounts stay out of the log.

Leaving and coming back

Returning members get their role back by default, with a short note. New members get the unverified role until they press Verify. Admins can require a fresh check after every rejoin. A member held for review stays on hold until staff approve them.

What we keep

We never read browsing history, other tabs, extensions, files, the camera or the microphone. Only the IP goes to the reputation providers, and they handle it under their own policies. Nothing is sold.

Members can use /privacy in a DM with the bot to see their linked IPs, export their data or delete it all. Read the full privacy notice.
